How to Decorate a Living Room on a Budget You like
2013-08-19 Written by Administrator

You like making a good impression on your guests?  You want to create a wonderful space for your whole family to relax in together? The answer is a perfect living room! Don’t worry if you do not have much money for a big remodeling project! Decorating your living room on a budget is always possible with the following tips.

1.      Add Personality with Homemade Artwork

Homemade artwork is always a unique décor idea. Creating decorative items is a fun and easy work, and you can make various types of crafts. You want flowers that “never die”?  A vase of beautiful and lifelike handmade stocking flowers would be a fun project for you. With origami or quilting art, you can create many awesome things such as colorful pictures or sophisticated paper architectural structures. If you are creative and skilful enough, even “rubbish” such as straws or eggshells may turn into lovely items.

2.      Liven up Your Walls

To make your walls more attractive, you can give them new wallpaper or new paint. For example, create an accent wall by painting one wall in a strong color and surrounding walls in a neutral such as white or cream.

Another way to give your walls a new appearance is to use hung items. And the most popular ones are frames. For instance, instead of keeping your photos in an album, put them into frames of different sizes and hang these frames to create a highlight on the wall behind your sofa.

Let’s liven up your wall with some frames!

The way you arrange frames on a wall can express your personality. If you are open-minded, you may want to hang frames in random positions; if you like romanticism, you can hang them in the shape of a huge heart. You can also try using plates with unique colors and patterns or decorative pieces of wood.

3.      Refresh Your Space with New Furniture

If you find that your current table or chairs are not suitable for your living room anymore, you may want to replace them with new ones. Don’t worry if you are living on a tight budget! You can seek something good but inexpensive or on sale. However, it is not smart for you to buy things just because they are cheap. For example, if you have a long sofa in your living room, choosing a round coffee table is not a good idea even if you can buy it at a bargain price. Think about your living room’s general décor and imagine what it would look like with the new items that you intend to buy.

You feel tired of your old and boring living room? It is high time you became an active and creative owner! Let’s refurbish your living room with a new appearance!
